YES! It's me - I think I'm still in shock. But I'M APPROVED!!!!! My date with Dr. Upadhyay is Tuesday, September 19 at 2:45pm. I actually could have had Sep. 6, but my mom and step-dad are going to Idaho to visit my step-sister on the 10th, and I decided to wait until after they get back. Gotta go - Chris just pulled into the garage and I can't wait to tell him - I'll write more soon!

Congrats!! I had surgery Sep 1 1985 and it was the best decision ever. I am free of my food addiction. Where in the past I was dismissed as insigificant, I am now smiled at and talked to by all. Is it them or me? Who cares. I now weigh 145 pounds (5'7") and shop in the Misses department of any store I choose. Just wait, you will too. I'm off high blood pressure meds, can sneeze without peeing and do an hour on the eliptical each day. My one disappointment, is that I am still diabetic. However, with the weight loss instead of a hundred units of insulin each day, I'm on 20.

Congratulations on getting your surgery date! Sorry you have to start your pre-op diet right away and can't go on the "Tour of Favorite Foods". Just remember that you WILL be able to eat those foods again eventually in smaller portions.
Congrats! My med letter should go out from the Dr.'s office on Monday and I'm hoping to come back to the Bay Area in Oct for the surgery.
